TWO MISSIONARIES ORDAINED PRIESTS IN TANZANIA

It was a good day on Saturday, February 22, when our Society witnessed the priestly ordination of two of its sons: Dickson Simon Komba, C.PP.S. and Justin Boniface Mwanyelo, C.PP.S. The holy Mass was celebrated inside the Parish Church of Mt. Gaspar Shrine at Mbezi Beach in Dar-es-salaam, presided over by Jude Thaddeus Ruwa'ichi, OFM Cap., the Archbishop of Dar-es-salaam. In his homily he reminded believers that every holy calling comes from God, he is the source of every call to consecration.

He reminded these two missionaries elected to be consecrated that their calling is like that of the prophet Jeremiah, unworthy and fragile as they are but selected to be a gift from God for the Church. He emphasized that because the Spirit of God is within them, they must be well prepared to work under the influence of the Holy Spirit. Fr. Dickson Komba hails from Songea Diocese in the south of the country, and Fr. Justin comes from Lushoto – Tanga Diocese located at the north east of Tanzania. Fr. Dickson is assigned to do his ministry in the Teutonic Province later this year after a period of orientation of language and culture. Fr. Justin is assigned to work with the Italian Province at St. Gaspar’s Hospital in Itigi.
